Twins Deontae and Devontae Armstrong shed their black stripes on Saturday. They became the 17th and 18th freshmen to participate in the Buckeyes' rite of passage in 2024.

Coming out of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio, Deontae Armstrong (6-foot-6, 298 pounds) carried a higher composite recruiting ranking of the twins. The longer and leaner of the two brothers, Deontae manned the left tackle position for St. Edward in his final two high school seasons and could compete for that spot at Ohio State in the future.
Meanwhile, Devontae Armstrong (6-foot-5, 305 pounds), who is shorter and stockier than his brother, manned the interior offensive line and looks poised to do so at Ohio State down the road, though he has enough length to play outside if needed.
