Pete Cusick started for three years at defensive tackle for Ohio State and served as a captain of the 1974 Rose Bowl championship team.
He earned All-American and All-Big Ten honors while helping lead Ohio State to three consecutive Big Ten championships and Rose Bowl appearances.
Ohio State went 29-4-1 when Cusick started, and the 1973 defense only surrendered 64 points throughout the season.
Cusick left Columbus with 242 tackles, including 22 tackles for a loss. He played in the Hula Bowl following his senior season before playing one season with the New England Patriots.
Ohio State named Cusick to the All-Century Team in 2000 before inducting him into the Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012.
