I don't know how a feel about a blackout at noon, but I do know those uniforms looked crispy as hell last time they wore them so I'm willing to give it a shot in the daylight.

NEW ORLEANS BUCKEYES SHINE IN PRIMETIME. On an off week with no Joe Burrow, your lone Buckeye football fix came courtesy of New Orleans Saints, who rolled out a shiny new all-Ohio State secondary for a few plays along with their already-elite Michael Thomas.

New Orleans is basically turning into an Ohio State dream team, and the results on Sunday were about what you'd expect.

The Saints won 30-20 to improve to 6-1 on the season. Other teams should consider employing Buckeyes, because it seems to be working out over in New Orleans.
ELDON MILLER HOMECOMING. The Ohio State men's hoops team has a relatively inconsequential exhibition game against UNC Pembroke Thursday, but it is offering a cool chance for former Buckeye head coach Eldon Miller to return.
Miller coached Ohio State for 10 years from 1977 to 1986. Now he's a volunteer assistant coach at Pembroke, where his son Ben is the head coach.
From Adam Jardy of the Columbus Dispatch:
The matchup initially was the brainchild of Ron Stokes, one of Miller’s former players and now the analyst for the team’s radio broadcasts. Stokes approached director of basketball operations David Egelhoff and coach Chris Holtmann, who gave the green light to the suggestion of playing the Braves.
Miller said he learned of the game when his son delivered the news as a present for his 79th birthday last summer.
“I was very excited,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it. My son is kind of a sneaky guy. It’s a great opportunity for (the Braves), but most of all, and I can’t emphasize this enough, I have a chance to see some people that I haven’t seen in a long time.”
...
“I thought it was a good opportunity to bring a guy back that loves Ohio State and cares about the players that he coached,” Holtmann said. “We always want our guys to have an appreciation for what came before them and this is another way for them to acknowledge it, and it’s a way for us to acknowledge our former players.”
I would love to hear his unfiltered #takes on the Schottenstein Center after this game, as a guy who coached over 150 games in St. John Arena.. I have a hunch they wouldn't be good.
A B1G CONSPIRACY. Michigan State's President John Engler tossed on his tinfoil hat over the weekend, accusing the Big Ten of favoritism towards Ohio State and Michigan.
It all stemmed from that marching across the field incident, which resulted in a $10,000 fine for Michigan State.
From Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press:
The former governor on the 94.9 WMMQ-FM pregame show Saturday called commissioner Jim Delany’s ruling “absurd” and blamed Michigan for the incident.
“It was a setup. I think the whole thing was staged and the behavior just outrageous,” Engler said. “The idea that Michigan State gets fined is absurd. The Michigan player (Devin Bush) that was out there tearing up the field, that seemed to be the single-most egregious act. I mean, blocking the players was dumb, the players as they did the march. But his behavior in front of everyone, trying to tear up the field and forcing our groundskeeper to come out and fix it — come on.
“I was told— and I haven’t been around very long — that down at the Big Ten headquarters, the scarlet and gray (Ohio State) and the maize and blue (Michigan) have a little status. And it sure looked like it this week.”
Oh hell yeah. The Penn State conspiracy theorists seem to be dwindling in number, or at least becoming less vocal. Glad my man John is here to pick up the slack.
Maybe now's not the time to complain about the Big Ten looking favorably on the two clear-cut best athletic programs in the conference with top-10 football teams and playoff hopes immediately after your team couldn't even gain 100 yards against one of them.
REVENGE GAME. Wake Forest running back Matt Colburn had the ultimate flex this weekend, dropping a career day on a coach who pulled a scholarship offer out from under his feet at the last minute.
Matt Colburn had his scholarship taken away by Bobby Petrino 2 days before signing day. Petrino wanted to greyshirt him. Colburn would later walk on at Wake Forest. Today, he rushed for a career-high 243 yds w 3 TDs in a 56-35 win over Petrino and Louisville.

Negandhi corrected himself, adding that Colburn did actually have a scholarship at Wake Forest,I bet I'm sure that doesn't change how good this felt:

It's a shame his revenge had to come against one of the kindest, most well-respected coaches in the business. I really hate to see high-character individuals like Petrino get embarrassed like that.
