Ohio State beats Penn State, 20-13, in a thrilling top-five matchup at Beaver Stadium.
The only discussion topic yours truly enjoys more than Ohio State football has to be pouring gasoline on the fire of controversy as it applies to the University of Michigan. On the heels of back-to-back episodes in which The Eleven Dubcast had the opportunity to grill the Wolverines' football beat for dodging developments in the Connor Stalions scandal, the NCAA blessed Buckeye fans with yet another news drop last Wednesday relative to Jim Harbaugh cheating.
Johnny and I once again jump at the chance to react to the saga now dubbed "Breakfast Burgergate" that resulted in a four-year show-cause penalty placed upon Michigan's former head coach, effectively banning him from a return to college football. We also remark at the quote delivered by one of his former recruiting directors that those working at the program had direction to "go up to the line and cross it" in consideration of following the rules, as well as the Wolverines opting to make Harbaugh an honorary captain for their 2024 season opener.
Additionally, the Dubcast discussion also covers:
- Fall camp continues in Columbus, and Will Howard seems to have the starting job sewn up. How should Buckeye fans feel about complimentary comments from teammates?
- Guardian caps have begun their rollout across the NFL preseason. Will they fulfil their purpose of phasing out concussions at the cost of making players look like citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom?
- Ask Us Anything — writers to dubcast@elevenwarriors.com this week inquired about many topics, such as what future does AI writing have in the realm of sports journalism? This week featured over 10 submissions, so thank you for the wealth of responses!
- Colorado local media seems to have finally turned on Deion Sanders. Will Coach Prime leave town before next season, and could he possibly fail upwards into an even better job?
