"His quarterback and offensive line stink," they said about Chris Olave. "Hurt too often and playing under a Michigan coach," they proclaimed about J.K. Dobbins. "Skipped the NFL Combine because he runs slower than Archie Manning," they complained about Marvin Harrison Jr.

It would seem the contrarian public greatly exaggerated the demise of Buckeye stars across the shield. Only two weeks into the season, Ohio State suddenly has a pair of former players at the front of the race for both Rookie of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year.

Additionally, Garrett Wilson continues to turn heads now that he can finally receive throws from Aaron Rodgers and Jaxon Smith-Njigba appears poised for a breakout campaign in Seattle. Justin Fields currently has more wins, touchdown passes and less turnovers in Pittsburgh than the quarterback Chicago drafted to replace him.

Accordingly, The Eleven Dubcast spends a good deal of the first half of this week's episode appreciating the success all of these professional Buckeyes have already put on display just two weeks into the season. How many of these stars will continue to shine as the grind of the League wears on?

Additionally, the Dubcast discussion also covers:

  • Ohio State already flashed improvement between the first couple games of the season, but where does the team need to keep refining itself midway through the first month of the schedule?
  • Another 40-point spread against a non-conference opponent? Should Buckeye fans expect the Marshall Thundering Herd to just roll over?
  • Ask Us Anything — writers to dubcast@elevenwarriors.com this week inquired about many topics, such as how would you spend $20 at the Horseshoe concession stand and what is the most obscure award you have ever received?
  • Sherrone Moore finally got his contract last week and details on the language emerged only yesterday. What will it take for Connor Stalions' iMessage buddy to get fired for cause?
  • Week 3 yielded no upsets among the Top 25 teams in college football, but some interesting storylines still emerged during the OSU bye week. When will Billy Napier get shown the door at Florida? Will the former top-10 Seminoles start the season with an 0-4 record?

And that does it for the Dubcast this week! Watch the show now on YouTube above, listen via the mini player below or visit our Transistor page for links to other listening options such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more.
