There's a lot of story archetypes that humans have developed over the millennia, but they generally seem to fall into one of a handful of easily defined categories. Man versus man, man versus nature, man versus society, and so on.
We have now just completed the "man versus self" portion of the Ohio State football schedule, and overall: the Dubcast feels pretty good about it! Yeah, there are some minor things to quibble with in the Buckeyes' 49-14 win over Marshall (the interior defensive line might not be as deep as we had hoped, Will Howard does dumb things sometimes, it's too hot, etc.) but in sum this still looks like a dominant football team with a bright future ahead of it.
Which is cool, because the other part of the Dubcast is the schadenfreude that we get from watching other teams crash and burn, which we talk about as well!
- The defense was sluggish coming off a bye week, which isn't surprising or even particularly concerning at this point. Also, Marshall did nothing in the second half.
- What Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson are doing as a duo is pretty incredible.
- Will Howard: big floppy puppy.
- Ask Us Anything has a very important question about my national parks poster, and you can ask more questions about our choice of decor by sending them to dubcast@elevenwarriors.com!
- A quick look at the national scene this weekend, as Tennessee looks mortal, Illinois is relevant, and Indiana seems... good??
- Michigan gets by USC, with a combination of Kalel Mullings being a large scary man and Lincoln Riley being dumb.
- The honeymoon phase for Kyle McCord and Syracuse has officially ended.
