Media outlets are reporting that Michigan sophomore wide receiver Mario Manningham will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery today to repair a partially torn meniscus in the knee. He may also have a partial tear of the medial collateral ligament in the knee. At a press conference, coach Lloyd Carr refused to confirm the reports of the injury. Let's hope he returns to the field as quickly as possible as I don't like for Wolverine fans to have any excuses.

In other news, the Columbus Blue Jackets looked solid in beating the Phoenix Coyotes 5-1 last night in Columbus. Zherdev looked sharp in scoring two goals in his first game of the season. The team is playing well and last night's win was one of the better wins I have ever experienced in 5 years of watching the Jackets. The scoring is there with two really solid lines and LeClaire is a great young goaltender. I would not be surprised at all to see this team enter the playoffs with one of the top five seeds in the West before it is all said and done.
