Former Cornhusker start Lawrence Phillips has been found guilty on seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon by a Los Angeles jury. The verdict stemmed from an incident August 21, 2005 when the 31 year-old Phillips allegedly struck three and narrowly missed four others between the ages of 15 and 24 after losing a pickup game of football on a field outside the Coliseum.
MEMO TO VH1: Phillips, Ryan Leaf and Mo Clarett must be signed immediately to star in the Surreal Backfield. Even though Leaf doesn't appear to be the walking meltdown he once was, there's no doubt that the bright lights and cameras would bring out his best again.
