Scout is reporting that Hyde is in a bit of academic limbo. He needs a 17 on his ACT to qualify, but the next ACT date in the state of Florida is 9/12. At this point, it's probably safe to say he won't be hitting the field this season and if he wants to remain a Buckeye, will have to enroll winter quarter and work towards next season.
Hyde is the 2nd of two star Florida running backs the Buckeyes signed for this class that have been in the news lately for things they'd probably rather not be. This could mean some love for Jordan Hall at running back this season, but at the very least, makes the Rod Smith get even bigger than it was when it was announced last week.
