Three sacks will get you noticed.

Gibson recorded a career-best three sacks and recovered a fumble to help Ohio State hold Minnesota to only a late touchdown in a 38-7 triumph. The junior defensive end collected six tackles, including five solo stops, and his three sacks pushed the Gophers’ offense back 17 yards. After the Buckeyes took a 14-0 lead early in the second half, defensive lineman John Simon forced a fumble, which was recovered by Gibson at the visitor’s 22-yard line. OSU scored on the ensuing possession to go up 21-0 on the way to the victory. Minnesota was held to 1-of-10 on third downs and 163 passing yards while suffering four sacks. Gibson collects the first weekly honor of his career.
