No foolin', its finally April.

That means the month of both Ohio State's spring game and the NFL Draft has finally arrived. Buckeye fans certainly seem eager to see what players such as Jeremiah Smith and Caleb Downs have in store for OSU's national title defense. That said, the departure of several players for the professional ranks has created shoes to fill and opportunities to step up across the roster.

Obviously a lot of eyes are already on Julian Sayin as he prepares to compete for the starting quarterback job. But what other areas on both sides of the ball feature players that Ohio State fans should be perhaps more excited about than early attention has let on?

That's the primary discussion topic on The Eleven Dubcast this week, as Johnny and I offer a couple of suggestions for more unheralded players that the Buckeye faithful can get excited about as the team prepares for its internal scrimmage soon.

Additionally, the Dubcast discussion also covers:

  • OSU Pro Day has come and gone, with some players redeeming themselves for their combine performances while others may have inspired newfound concern. Are the Steelers going to take three Buckeyes in a row? Should Bengals fans get comfortable with the idea of having Jack Sawyer around Cincinnati?
  • The Final Four has finally arrived, and its all one-seeds. Does that bode well or poorly for the future of March Madness, and how much of a vampiric effect has the transfer portal had on shaping these top-heavy results?
  • Speaking of the portal, departures for OSU men's and women's hoops have already begun. Go figure, at the same time this week's episode went up on YouTube, Meechie Johnson and Aaron Bradshaw also announced their goodbyes. But at least John Mobley Jr. is back!
  • Ask Us Anything — writers to dubcast@elevenwarriors.com this week inquired about many topics, such as what's going on with Ohio State baseball and what's the best way to learn how to read a defense?
  • Mel Tucker has gone missing, but fortunately you can still buy his NFTs.

And that does it for the Dubcast this week! Watch the show now on YouTube above, listen via the mini player below or visit our Transistor page for links to other listening options such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and more.
