Shannon Scott, the #7 ranked point guard in the class of 2011 according to Scout.com, has verbally committed to Ohio State. Scott, the son of former UNC star, Charlie Scott, becomes the Buckeyes' first member for the class of 2011 and chose OSU over offers from Clemson, USC, Oregon State, Georgia Tech, and others.
This is definitely a good way to start the 2011 class off, especially after the recent departure of Walter Offutt from the program. Scott will give the Buckeyes some point guard depth behind true lead-man Aaron Craft and combo-guard Lenzelle Smith, both who recently signed on to join the Buckeyes next year as part of the 2010 recruiting class.
