It's 2013, the kids are all grown up, and Northwestern is a big game on the schedule all of a sudden. If things go according to plan, this game will be a matchup of top 15 opponents. At night. In a town with amazing food, fantastic public transportation and 30,000 bars.
We can't make it out to every bar, but we did settle on the perfect one. Join your friends from Eleven Warriors, members of the Ohio State Alumni Club of Chicago and the best Buckeye fans in the 312 for a Windy City Social at Mickeys Bar & Patio [Map] the night before the game.
We'll gather at 7 p.m. (Central Time) for a welcoming cocktail reception hosted by Eleven Warriors and the Alumni Club of Chicago. A $5 donation will get you a souvenir stadium mug and domestic drafts and well drinks from 7-8 p.m. We'll eat, drink, be merry and talk about all the things the Buckeyes will do to Northwestern on Saturday.
But that's not all.
The Ohio State Alumni Club of Chicago is hosting CHIGATE, a massive party Saturday, just two blocks east of Ryan Field, next to the Central Station on the Purple Line. Your $30 ticket to the tailgate covers burgers, dogs, subs and salads along with sweet treats and two beer tickets (extra drink tickets will be available for $4).
You can purchase tickets for the tailgate online, or at the social on Friday night. If you already have a ticket, you can pick up your wristband for the tailgate at Friday's social.
Whether you make it out for the social Friday night or the tailgate on Saturday (or both), we're looking forward to hanging and talking Ohio State.
