Bo Ryan's been a collegiate head basketball coach for more than 30 seasons.

It appears the 2015-16 season will be his last.

The head coach of the Wisconsin Badgers since the 2001-02 season, Ryan announced Monday he plans to step down after this coming season in Madison:

Ryan, 67, led the Badgers to the national championship game in April, only to fall to Duke, 68-63. He's led the Buzzcuts to the NCAA Tournament in each of his 14 seasons at the helm, including back-to-back Final Four trips.

The Badgers, led by Big Ten Player of the Year and 2015 Naismith Award winner senior Frank Kaminsky, took down No. 1 overall seed and previously unbeaten Kentucky in Houston at the Final Four before falling to the Blue Devils two nights later.

Ryan's led the Badgers to at least a share of four Big Ten regular season championships and won the conference tournament three times, including this past year. He is 357-125 overall in Madison, showing that despite his slow-paced, grinding style of coaching, he is wildly successful.

A source close to Ryan told ESPN's Jeff Goodman the coach is not stepping down due to health reasons.

Along with Kaminsky, Wisconsin lost Sam Dekker to the NBA and starter Josh Gasser to graduation. Toledo's own Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig return however, to help Ryan frustrate and bore the Big Ten to death for one more year.

Ryan's statement said he hopes longtime assistant Greg Gard takes over, but we'll have to see if Barry Alvarez remains cool with that and doesn't take over himself.
