There's an ancient Chinese saying: "Everything is bigger in Texas." But I'm not sure if even Sun Tzu could have foreseen the rise of ridiculously-big scoreboards.
The Cowboys have their scoreboard, the largest in the world. Texas A&M, however, won't be too far behind. When their $450 million renovation of Kyle Field is complete in 2015, they'll have the largest scoreboard in college football and the largest stadium in the SEC.
If you're wondering where all this money is coming from, A&M smashed a fundraising record last year with $740 million (or a light Tuesday afternoon's work, as it's known to E. Gordon Gee). Such are the perks of a good football team, I suppose.
