There was a time—simple as it was—when Ohio State recruitniks fretted over Urban Meyer's choice to pursue the lesser-heralded Ezekiel Elliott over 2013's No. 1 RB, Derrick Green.

Green grew up wearing No. 27 in honor of Eddie George, and his recruitment to Columbus seemed like destiny.

Three years later and Ezekiel Elliott will likely be the No. 1 running back taken in the 2016 NFL Draft. Derrick Green, who landed at Michigan, is leaving the Wolverines as a graduate transfer.

College Football Talk first reported the news. Green will stay at Michigan this spring to polish off his degree. According to his recent Twitter follows, Florida is the preemptive landing spot.

Meanwhile, another roster spot opens up for Jim Harbaugh and his No. 2 recruiting class. (Remember, Blue fans, it's not oversigning if you refuse to call it oversigning.)
