According to published reports, Sam Foltz, a senior punter for the Nebraska football team, and Mike Sadler, a former Michigan State punter, were killed in a car crash overnight in Wisconsin.
Foltz is the reigning Big Ten Punter of the Year, and Sadler, a four-time Academic All-American while in East Lansing, was set to begin law school at Stanford this fall.
The two were there for a weekend punter's camp. The car, which Sadler was driving, lost control on wet pavement and struck a tree. The two were pronounced dead at the scene.
Our condolences to the families of Sam Foltz and Mike Sadler as well as to the Nebraska and Michigan State communities.
