With few viable quarterback options on the roster following Jake Fromm's departure to the NFL, Georgia desperately needed to make a splash in the NCAA transfer portal.
They did – twice.
Just a few weeks after Wake Forest quarterback Jamie Newman, former five-star prospect and USC starting quarterback JT Daniels has announced he will join the Bulldogs this fall.
THANK YOU USC

Daniels still has three seasons of eligibility remaining but would have to receive a waiver in order to play for Georgia this season as NCAA transfer requirements dictate he must sit a year before obtaining eligibility at his new school.
The former five-star recruit was the No. 2 pro-style quarterback and No. 16 overall prospect in the 2018 class, Daniels reclassified from a junior to a senior to be able to enroll at USC a year earlier than expected and in what was supposed to be his senior season of high school, Daniels won USC's starting quarterback job in 2018 and threw for 2,672 yards in his debut college season, though the Trojans finished the season just 5-7, missing a bowl for the first time since 2000.
Though USC held an open competition for the starting job ahead of the 2019 season, Daniels won the job again before suffering a season-ending ACL tear in the team's season opener against Fresno State after completing 25 of 34 passes for 215 yards in the first half. In his absence, freshman Kedon Slovis threw for 3,502 yards, 30 touchdowns and nine interceptions, leading the Trojans to an 8-5 record.
The Bulldogs also added Newman, who will be eligible immediately and is expected to be the Bulldogs' starter this season, particularly if Daniels does not receive an eligibility waiver.
Regardless of who starts this year, though, it looks like Georgia has its quarterback of the future in Daniels.
