I had a hole in my tooth. Went to get it look at today and the dentist recommended a crown because the cavity was large and I already had a big filling. The dentist was drilling out the tooth to prepare for the crown and he said he couldn't go any farther because he was getting too close to the nerve. He put in a temporary and they scheduled me for a root canal with another dentist.

I'm getting nervous. One of my coworkers got a root canal from the same dentist and he said it "hurt like hell." How was your root canal experience in terms of pain? I'm a big whimp I know; I'm scared of dental pain.
