Former 5 star guard for UK has declared for the draft without ever setting foot on the court for UK. He graduated in May 2016, enrolled at UK in January 2017 and practiced with the team, never playing a game. On April 23, he declared for the draft. (he is technically 1 year removed from HS making him eligible for the draft.)
He hasn't hired an agent yet, but some draft analysts have him as a Top 10 pick, meaning he probably stays in the draft.
Is this opening the door for "elite" players to skip college and go into the draft without ever playing a game? Will this be the next step in the wrong direction for college basketball?
I would love to hear everyone's thoughts.
