Micah Potter will have to wait even longer than he hoped to return to the court.
The former Ohio State big man had his waiver for immediate eligibility this season denied by the NCAA, Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported on Thursday.
#Badgers mens hoops not expected to have OSU transfer Micah Potter until after end of semester. NCAA turned down appeal for immediate eligibility. Shouldnt be surprised but this one does surprise me.

Potter elected to transfer just two days before the Buckeyes began the 2018-19 season and left the team. He continued classes at Ohio State, though, until he made his transfer to Wisconsin and began taking classes in Madison in January. Because he was still at Ohio State for last year's fall semester, the NCAA will keep him ineligible until this year's fall semester concludes even though he didn't play a minute during the 2018-19 season.
Chris Holtmann, Thad Matta and Gene Smith wrote letters to the NCAA in support of Potter's appeal for immediate eligibility. However, it appears that they weren't enough to swing the decision in Potter's favor. Coincidentally, he might make his debut in the Big Ten portion of Wisconsin's schedule when the Badgers face the Buckeyes at the Schottenstein Center on Jan. 3.
Potter averaged 4.1 points and 2.8 rebounds in 12.1 minutes per game across his two seasons at Ohio State.
