I started a thread yesterday about the best trio of LB's in Buckeye history, well back to 68 anyways, and Cincysweatervest9 commented "And penn st thinks they are LB U!". Well that set me off on some more digging and here are the results of that...
PSU /OSU All-American LB's From 68-14
- Dennis Onkotz 68 & 69 - Randy Gradishar 72 & 73
- Jack Ham 70 - Tom Cousineau 77 & 78
- John Skorupan 72 - Marcus Marek 82
- Greg Buttle 75 - Chris Spielman 86 & 87
- Shane Conlan 85 & 86 - Pepper Johnson 85
- Andre Collins 89 - Steve Tovar 91 & 92
- Lavar Arrington 99 - Andy Katzenmoyer 97
- Brandon Short 99 - Na'il Diggs 99
- Paul Posluszney 05 & 06 - Matt Wilhelm 02
- Dan Conner 06 & 07 - AJ Hawk 04 & 05
- Sean Lee 07 - James Laurinaitis 06, 07, 08
- Michael Mauti 12 - Ryan Shazier 13
...each have had 12 players, but the Buckeyes out distance Penn St in years 19-16
I am done "digging" for the day and I might be biased, but just looking over the names, I would say that overall our LB's have been more successful in the NFL as well.
