Ever since the Cheating Scandal broke the skunks have been, successfully, deflecting attention away from how much of an advantage it really is to know your opponents play. ESPN talking heads and even OSU sights like Carpenter/Schlegal were "not sure" what role it played in the losses. Proof of how important knowing the plays can be:
- Coaches study film of opponents in the hopes to learn tendencies so they can "predict" what the opponent will do during the game
- Players study to film to recognize tendencies
- QB's that are successful are able to "read the defense" pre-snap
- Blitzes and coverages are disguised
Knowing the other teams plays is a huge advantage and the skunks should have to forfeit every game they cheated in previously.
