With the hiring of Bill O'Brien, I think it's pretty obvious that Hartline is being given every opportunity to learn and grow into his role as OC. I full expect that Bill will only be here for 2-3 years max before going back to the NFL.....at which time Hartline should be well prepared to be the sole OC. Another thing I truly believe will happen down the line which may get me some down votes from the EW community......I believe that Brian Hartline will one day be the Head Coach of THE Ohio State football program. I think that Ryan Day will want to explore coaching in the NFL at some point (probably 5-7 years down the line) and Hartline will have been groomed to take over.
