We're heading into Week 2 and there are 15 B1G games, 2 byes, and one lone conference game.  I used ESPN's Scoreboard to see the entry price for each game.  And, as we all know, these values do not reflect the extra taxes or fees of which we're accustom.

Here's the list.

BIG Week 2 - Tickets "As Low As"
Home Away Date "As Low As" Note
TCUN Texas Saturday $186
Nebraska Colorado Saturday $183
Iowa Iowa St. Saturday $132
Northwestern Duke Friday $43 at tiny L&SM Stadium
Illinois Kansas Saturday $41
Oregon Boise St. Saturday $35 and Idaho was trouble
USC Utah St. Saturday $32
OSU!!! W. Mich. Saturday $30
Maryland Mich. St. Saturday $14 Our Lone Conf Game
Indiana W. Illinois Friday $9 FCS team, bleh
Wisconsin S. Dakota Saturday $9 The crappy Dakota
Penn St. Bowling Gr. Saturday $7
Minnesota Rhode Island Saturday $7 didn't know they existed
Rutgers Akron Saturday $6 we destroyed their QB
Washington E. Mich. Saturday $5
UCLA   BYE
Purdue   BYE

OSU falls in the median: 7 pricier, 7 cheaper than the Buckeyes.  I can see that, lots of excitement, but a MAC school.  (We all know the only time a MAC team beat OSU was in 1894, when Buchtel (now Akron) with Head Coach Heisman bested the Bucks 12-6 at the Ohio State Fair.  Akron went 1-0 that year, Heisman jettisoned that season and started coaching at Oberlin that year.)

Here's the breakdown.

  • 6 Games -- Single Digits
    • None of them compelling, that's why they're cheaper than a $5 footlong.
    • I've NEVER heard of Rhode Island in a football context before.  Their chance to shine.
    • Akron's QB Finley, is he better yet?  Rutgers is calling.
  • $14 division -- Finally, a Conference Game
    • Not much more than single digits.  Only $14 in Maryland.
    • I guess not much excitement over MSU @ MD.
  • 5 Games -- $30 to $45
    • Kansas comes into Illinois ranked, but it's Illinois.
    • Northwestern is our season outlier as they are borrowing stadiums for two years
      • Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium is very small
    • Boise State... keep an eye on them.  Oregon was only leading FCrapS Idaho by 3 in the 4th, won by 10.  The Potato state really has a show to dethrone Oregon.
  • >$100 -- 3 of them
    • Yes, Texas in Ann Arbor, we get that.
    • The Old' Big 12 Rivalry renewed: Coach Prime's Buffaloes at Nebraska and their #1 QB.
    • Iowa without Brian Ferentz (actually could be competitive) vs. the in state rival.
