After clinching a share of the title on Friday night, the Ohio State women's soccer team won the Big Ten Championship outright for the first time on Wednesday night by defeating the Indiana Hoosiers, 2-1, at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.

Both goals for the No. 13 Buckeyes were scored by senior forward Sammy Edwards in the third minute and the seventh minute.

“This is an amazing feeling," said Ohio State head coach Lori Walker-Hock. “I’m so proud of our team and our entire staff because they’ve made it a really fun year. This is such a strong conference and we’ve been close in the past so it means a lot to us to finish this off tonight."
The Buckeyes won the championship after going 9-2 in conference play, to go with their 15-3-1 overall record. Up next is the Big Ten Tournament, which begins Sunday. Ohio State — being the top overall seed — will have its first game at home, taking on Iowa at 4 p.m. on Oct. 29.
