A total of 106 Ohio State athletes on fall sports teams, including 33 Buckeyes from the football team, were recognized as Academic All-Big Ten honorees by the conference on Wednesday.

To be eligible for the fall Academic All-Big Ten team, a student-athlete must be a verified member of a varsity fall sports team, have been enrolled at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

Ohio State's honorees are headlined by Jake Metzer, a sophomore punter on the football team, and Kelsey Nolan, a senior midfielder on the field hockey team, who are among 18 Academic All-Big Ten honorees who carry perfect grade-point averages of 4.0.

Metzer is joined on the Academic All-Big Ten team by some of the football team's biggest stars, including conference Offensive Lineman of the Year Billy Price and Defensive Lineman of the Year Nick Bosa. Other football players who received All-Big Ten recognition for their performance both on the field and in the classroom include safety Jordan Fuller, defensive end Sam Hubbard, defensive tackle Dre'Mont Jones, kicker Sean Nuernberger and punter Drue Chrisman.
