Ohio State's wrestling team moves into the new Jennings Family Wrestling Facility next Tuesday.
The program is days away from moving its offseason training and practices to its new permanent home at the Covelli Center with a team unveiling Tuesday, May 21. The team will begin its practice at the Steelwood Athletic Training Facility, its longtime home, and then bus the team to the Jennings facility for the unveiling and walkthrough.
As construction crews applied the finishing touches on an elaborate camera-based practice feedback system, Eleven Warriors took an exclusive tour of the facility that will host wrestling, men's and women's volleyball, gymnastics and fencing competitions next season.
The Jennings practice facility features two levels – five full wrestling mats and the Kathleen and Chris Snyder Weight Room on the lower level and new coaches offices on the upper level. Locker rooms and a team lounge are larger and more athlete-centered than in the Steelwood facility, and were designed in no small part based on lessons drawn from the nearby Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
