Nearly 100 years after Ohio Stadium debuted on Oct. 7, 1922, The Best Damn Band In The Land decided to give Buckeye Nation a treat and performed Script Ohio twice Saturday afternoon, both prior to kickoff and at halftime of Ohio State's game against Rutgers. What's better than seeing one of the best traditions in college football? Seeing it twice in the span of about two hours.
While performing Script Ohio twice for the 104,000-plus fans in attendance, TBDBITL also honored one of the best animation movies of all time, performing a Shrek-themed halftime show with some of the best music from the movie series. Some of the songs that were included were “All Star,” “Livin’ La Vida Loca” and “I’m A Believer.”
TBDBITL has been awfully busy early on this season considering Ohio State's first five games have all been at home. Even with having to perform at halftime five straight weeks, TBDBITL has proven yet again why they are, in fact, The Best Damn Band In The Land, knocking yet another performance out of the park.
Although the band chose to go with Shrek for their fifth halftime performance of the season, they have had a wide array of themes, going with a Jazz Café show with drone choreography against Notre Dame, some karaoke classics versus Arkansas State, a walk through Ohio Stadium history against Toledo, and honored Grease last week versus Wisconsin.
