As the 2022-23 college sports season comes to an end in June, Ohio State athletics secured a third-place finish in the Directors' Cup.
The National Association of College Directors of Athletics announced Tuesday that Ohio State's 1,210.75 points, accumulated from the postseason success of its athletic programs that competed at their respective NCAA championships this year, positioned the Buckeyes third behind Stanford and Texas but ahead of USC, Georgia and Michigan in the Directors' Cup standings.

Ohio State's 23 programs that collected points at their NCAA championships feature 12 women's teams, 10 men's teams and one co-ed team (fencing). However, only 19 teams can contribute points toward the Directors' Cup, a rule that removed the men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field teams from the Buckeyes' eligible programs. The Directors' Cup also does not recognize non-NCAA sports, so the school's championships in synchronized swimming and pistol are not included.
The Buckeyes' 12 scoring women's teams included ice hockey (second), volleyball (fifth), basketball (fifth), swimming and diving (sixth), gymnastics (ninth), tennis (ninth), rowing (12th), cross country (15th), soccer (17th), golf (31st) and indoor (18th) and outdoor (31st) track and field.
The 10 scoring men's teams were tennis (second), football (fourth), wrestling (fourth), volleyball (fifth), gymnastics (ninth), swimming and diving (11th), golf (15th), soccer (17th) and outdoor (37th) and indoor (41st) track and field. The co-ed fencing team also finished fifth.
Ohio State has never won the Directors' Cup but has finished second to Stanford three times in 2010-11, 2015-16 and 2016-17. The Directors' Cup officially started in 1993-94.
