After suffering its first loss of the season last week, Ohio State dropped from a season-high No. 16 in the Associated Press top-25 poll to No. 19.

The Buckeyes are the fifth-highest ranked Big Ten team in the country. No. 5 Michigan, No. 10 Michigan State, No. 12 Wisconsin and No. 18 Iowa were slotted higher. No. 23 Maryland and No. 24 Nebraska also made appearances in the poll, and Purdue and Indiana received votes.

Ohio State's next five games will come against teams not ranked in the top 25. Then, it will take on the Spartans on Jan. 5.

Syracuse, the team that beat the Buckeyes last week, did not make the top 25. However, the Orange had the second-most votes of those outside the rankings.
