While Chris Holtmann expects to see a few scarlet and gray jerseys in Las Vegas on Saturday, he knows it will be a hostile environment at the CBS Sports Classic.
The 15th-ranked Buckeyes take on John Calipari and No. 21 Kentucky at the T-Mobile Arena, and Holtmann doesn't believe he'll see much of a pro-Ohio State crowd at the high-profile non-conference contest despite the neutral setting.
"Make no mistake, this is a road game," Holtmann said at a press conference Thursday. "It was two years ago, we expect it to be again."
The Buckeyes, riding a season-high four-game win streak entering Saturday, will play a Wildcat team that is fresh off its second loss of the season to unranked Notre Dame. The last time Ohio State faced off against Kentucky, the Buckeyes won 71-65 at the same event and venue on Dec. 21, 2019.
