Malaki Branham won't be back with the Buckeyes next season.
The Ohio State star made it official at a press conference on the practice floor at the Schottenstein Center Wednesday, announcing that he will hire an agent and remain in the 2022 NBA draft.
Despite his success coming quicker than expected, Branham said he "wasn't thinking about four years at all" upon arriving at Ohio State after a stellar high school career at Akron's St. Vincent-St. Mary.
Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann said he always knew Branham would end up in the NBA eventually, and said the Big Ten Freshman of the Year is "just scratching the surface on the kind of player he can be."
