It wasn’t pretty, but Ohio State men’s basketball found a way to squeak out a season-opening win.
The Buckeyes defeated Oakland 79-73 in the team's season opener Monday at the Schottenstein Center behind 17 points from each of Zed Key, Bruce Thornton and Roddy Gayle Jr.
Ohio State shot 46.2 percent from the floor and held Oakland to 39.3 percent shooting.
The Buckeyes have a big matchup coming in their second contest, as they host No. 15 Texas A&M.
