Four-star 2023 Ohio offensive lineman Austin Siereveld will make his college decision in one week.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Lakota East standout will choose from a final three of Ohio State, Notre Dame and Alabama at 3:15 p.m. May 4 during a ceremony at his high school.

While many in the recruiting industry believe Siereveld will pick either Ohio State or Notre Dame, the only consensus is that there is no consensus beyond that. A source close to the program indicated Wednesday to Eleven Warriors that they genuinely have no idea what school Siereveld will pick.

Notre Dame received the last visit of Siereveld's recruitment last Saturday as the Middletown product made his way to South Bend for the Blue and Gold spring game. But Siereveld has also visited OSU twice this spring, most recently on April 16 for the Buckeyes’ spring game. He grew up a Buckeye fan, and despite the uncertainty surrounding his decision, it’s still going to feel like a surprise if he picks anywhere else.

Siereveld received his Ohio State offer Oct. 30 when he visited Columbus for the Penn State game, and he camped with OSU last summer several times. There was a stall in the Buckeyes’ recruitment of Siereveld after he did not visit Columbus again until late March, and he hadn’t built a strong connection with newly hired offensive line coach Justin Frye until recently. Once he met Frye in person on his March visit, though, Siereveld quickly warmed back up to OSU following the departure of his top two recruiters, Greg Studrawa and Kerry Coombs.

“(Coach Frye) tells me all the time that he wants to coach me and I want to play for someone like that,” Siereveld told Eleven Warriors of Frye back in March.

If Siereveld commits to Ohio State, he’ll become the 10th commit of the 2023 class, presuming no one else commits between now and then. He’d also be the fifth commit from Ohio and the third offensive lineman in the cycle, joining Luke Montgomery and Joshua Padilla. Both Montgomery and Padilla made last-minute social media recruiting pitches attempting to lure Siereveld to Columbus on Tuesday.

While Siereveld’s destination remains a mystery one weekend away from his commitment, OSU fans won’t have to wait much longer to find out if the Buckeyes’ 2023 cycle will see yet another addition or not.

OSU offers Womack

Ohio State has its eyes set on a 2023 four-star defensive lineman. The Buckeyes extended an offer to Maryland product Dashawn Womack on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pound Womack is considered the 170th-best prospect and the 25th-best defensive lineman in the 2023 class. He has 28 Division I offers to this point, a list that includes Michigan, Arizona, Michigan State, West Virginia, Penn State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, LSU, Louisville, Cincinnati and Auburn.

Womack helped lead St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, Maryland) to a 8-1 record last season. While he’s played both inside and outside on the defensive line, Womack primarily lined up at defensive end last year in St. Frances’ four-man defensive front.

Matthews gets Buckeyes offer

Ohio State offered its second offensive tackle in the 2025 class on Wednesday. New Jersey offensive lineman Jaelyne Matthews joins Mason Short as the tackles in the 2025 cycle who have received a Buckeyes offer so far.

OSU is the sixth Division I offer the 6-foot-6, 300-pound Matthews has received, the other five being Boston College, UConn, Georgia, Rutgers and Syracuse. He does not yet hold a composite recruiting ranking because 2025 players have not yet been ranked by the major recruiting services.
