It isn't very often Ohio State misses on an elite wide receiver recruit.
And while the writing had been on the wall for months, five-star Florida wide receiver Joshisa Trader made his college decision official on Thursday, as he committed to Miami, picking the Hurricanes over Ohio State, Florida State, Florida and Tennessee. Though the commitment of Trader is a big recruiting win for Miami, the Hurricanes may have to fight to keep him committed through National Signing Day.

Trader, the high school teammate of Ohio State five-star wide receiver commit Jeremiah Smith, visited Ohio State several times over the course of his recruitment but never took an official visit to Columbus.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Trader also plays for South Florida Express, a seven-on-seven team that has turned into a mini OSU pipeline, with several SFE players committing to OSU in past years including Carnell Tate, Brandon Inniss, Cedrick Hawkins and Smith. OSU wasn't able to capitalize on that connection this time, though.
With Smith and five-star wideout Mylan Graham committed to Ohio State, the Buckeyes' 2024 wideout corps is already the envy of many college teams, but OSU would still like to take one more wide receiver in the class. Of their remaining uncommitted targets, Missouri wideout Jeremiah McClellan seems the most likely. McClellan is set to announce a top five on Sunday, which will almost certainly feature the Buckeyes on it.
