In an expected move, Ohio State has missed out on its final defensive line target.
Four-star 2024 defensive lineman Amaris Williams committed to Auburn on Wednesday, despite a late push from Ohio State to surge back in the recruitment and a late attempt from Florida to hold on to its highly touted commit.
Williams took two visits to OSU this fall, with the Buckeyes becoming the clear frontrunner afterward.
But a late push from Auburn was enough to steer Williams towards the Tigers, as his last official visit of his recruitment was to Auburn.
With Williams no longer in the fold, Ohio State will end its 2024 class with two defensive linemen signed in Eddrick Houston and Eric Mensah.
