Ohio State is expanding its wide receiver board for the class of 2025.

Four-star Utah wide receiver Jerome Myles earned an offer from Ohio State on Thursday, instantly making him one of the top remaining targets at the position for Brian Hartline and Ryan Day in the current cycle.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Myles is considered the No. 76 prospect and No. 11 wide receiver in 2025. He holds 27 Division I offers, including Texas A&M, Utah, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Auburn, Iowa State, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Penn State, Tennessee, UCLA, Tennessee, USC, Washington and Washington State.

Of the schools that have offered him, Utah and Texas A&M are thought to be near the top of Myles’ list, having taken official visits to each this summer. Myles – who has also been connected to Michigan, LSU, Alabama and Penn State – is intrigued by OSU, though, and will likely take an official visit to Columbus sometime this fall.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Myles attends Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah, the same school Ohio State quarterback Devin Brown graduated from. In five games in his junior season, he recorded 19 catches for 486 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 25.6 yards per reception. He helped lead his team to a state title in Utah. As a sophomore, he caught 34 passes for 699 yards and eight touchdowns. Myles is also a state champion in track, winning the Utah 6A crown in the 100 and 200-meter sprints.

OSU has at least one open wide receiver spot remaining in its 2025 class, with other candidates to fill the role being Phillip Bell and potentially Preston Bowman if the Buckeyes can flip him from Kentucky.

Mikel Stephen lands an offer from the Buckeyes

Myles wasn’t the only prospect that landed an offer from Ohio State on Thursday. OSU running backs coach Carlos Locklyn offered 2027 Mississippi running back Mikel Stephen, giving the talented tailback just his fourth Division I offer.

Other schools that have offered Stephen include Georgia, Florida State and Georgia State. Stephen worked out with Locklyn in June at an Ohio State recruiting camp and impressed him in individual drills and one-on-one competition. About a month later, Locklyn decided to pull the trigger and offer the 5-foot-11, 185-pound prospect.

Stephen is the sixth running back OSU has offered in the 2027 class.

Devin Sanchez meets C.J. Stroud

Five-star 2025 Ohio State cornerback commit Devin Sanchez has had an interesting summer meeting former Buckeye legends. Earlier this month, Sanchez worked out with former OSU cornerback Jeff Okudah at a camp.

On Friday, Sanchez met former Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud while attending a Houston Texans training camp practice.

Sanchez, considered the No. 5 prospect and No. 1 cornerback in the 2025 class, has been one of the more vocal leaders for the Buckeyes’ current recruiting class.

David Sanders Jr. visiting Nebraska and Tennessee this weekend

It’s no secret Ohio State’s No. 1 remaining recruiting priority by far for the current class is to secure the commitment of David Sanders Jr.

With less than a month remaining before his Aug. 17 commitment, Sanders is taking a final round of visits this weekend. Neither school he’s visiting is OSU, though, as the No. 1 rated offensive tackle will visit Nebraska Friday and Tennessee Saturday.

Initially, that doesn’t sound like welcoming news from the Ohio State side of things, as Sanders is down to Georgia, OSU, Nebraska and Tennessee in his recruitment. And any time recruits take additional visits elsewhere in the final stretch, it’s certainly not something to ignore. But the vibes around Sanders are still cautiously optimistic on the Buckeyes’ side, at least for now, ahead of his decision.

Mid-August will be a particularly important stretch for OSU offensive line recruiting, with Sanders committing on Aug. 17 and Josh Petty committing five days prior on Aug. 12. On3 reported earlier this week that OSU has been pushing hard for Petty, who could play either tackle or guard in college, of late, even though Florida State or Georgia Tech still feel good about where they stand with him. If OSU can land one – or somehow both – of those talented offensive linemen, it’ll make fans feel better about the future of the Buckeyes’ offensive line.
