An Ohio State safety target in the 2025 class is ready to make a decision.

Four-star Virginia safety Messiah Delhomme is set to announce his commitment on Saturday and will choose from a group of finalists that include Ohio State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Maryland.

Delhomme took official visits to all four of his finalists, including Ohio State on June 14.

"Definitely the atmosphere at Ohio State," Delhomme told 247Sports of what’s appealing about the Buckeyes earlier this month. "When you are there, you get that excited feeling. The team chemistry that they have is really good."

The 6-foot-1, 196-pound Delhomme is considered the No. 192 prospect and No. 16 safety in the 2025 class per 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Delhomme is the final prep safety target Ohio State is waiting on a decision from and a few days ahead of the decision, the thinking has long been the Buckeyes could land him if they made a big push. There’s no evidence OSU has done that, though, and the Buckeyes may be content to let him head elsewhere, which may be Virginia Tech if he doesn’t end up in Columbus.

Ohio State has three safeties committed for the current cycle and would like to add another player at that position for next season. If the Buckeyes can’t flip in-state product Trey McNutt from Oregon this fall, the transfer portal may be the avenue Ohio State uses if it wants to bring in another safety.

But if Ohio State wants Delhomme, a late push from Tim Walton and Matt Guerrieri a few days before the announcement could have a profound impact on his upcoming decision.

Jerome Myles includes OSU on top 10

A 2025 wideout who recently picked up an Ohio State offer has slightly narrowed down his recruitment. Four-star 2025 wide receiver Jerome Myles released a top 10 list on Monday consisting of Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, Auburn, Texas A&M, USC, Penn State, Miami, LSU and Utah.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Myles is considered the No. 76 prospect and No. 11 wide receiver in 2025. Of the schools that have offered him, Utah and Texas A&M are thought to be near the top of Myles’ list, having taken official visits to each this summer. He’s expected to take an official visit to OSU sometime this fall.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Myles attends Corner Canyon High School (Draper, Utah), the same school Ohio State quarterback Devin Brown graduated from. In five games in his junior season, he recorded 19 catches for 486 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 25.6 yards per reception. He helped lead his team to a state title in Utah. As a sophomore, he caught 34 passes for 699 yards and eight touchdowns. Myles is also a state champion in track, winning the Utah 6A crown in the 100 and 200-meter sprints.

Ohio State currently has three wide receivers committed in its 2025 class and would like to take at least one more. Other targets include Phillip Bell and Preston Bowman, though Myles certainly has plenty of interest in the Buckeyes and could be a legitimate option.

Carson Sneed commits to Tennessee

In an expected outcome, four-star Tennessee 2026 tight end Carson Sneed opted to commit to his home school on Monday, committing to Tennessee.

Sneed chose the Volunteers over Ohio State, Auburn, Ole Miss and Louisville.
