Ohio State has added another former Nick Saban assistant to its recruiting department.

Morgan Phillips, who was the recruiting operations coordinator at LSU and previously worked in multiple roles at Alabama, joined Ohio State’s staff this week as its new director of recruiting and special events.

Phillips replaces Erin Dunston, who left Ohio State in June to become the director of football operations at Michigan.

Phillips becomes the second former member of Saban’s staff to join Ohio State’s player personnel department this offseason. Sam Petitto, who was the director of player personnel at Alabama from 2016-23, became Mark Pantoni’s lead assistant as Ohio State’s new director of player personnel in February.

In her lone year at LSU, Phillips helped the Tigers land the ninth-ranked recruiting class of 2024. LSU is positioned to have one of the nation’s best recruiting classes again in 2025, currently ranking third in 247Sports’ composite rankings behind only Ohio State and Alabama.

Now, Phillips will look to help Ohio State complete its No. 1-ranked 2025 class and begin building out its future recruiting classes as she will take a leading role in arranging recruiting visits and other on-campus recruiting events.
