The Buckeyes made the cut for one of the top recruits in the country, as five-star offensive tackle Devontae Dobbs listed Ohio State as one of his top-8 schools on Friday night.
I am truly blessed to be put in this position. I want to thank all of the coaches that offered me a full scholarship. However, at this time I will be focusing on the 8 schools listed below. pic.twitter.com/ufgBJWXRTw

Dobbs is the nation's No. 3 offensive tackle and No. 10 player overall, and while the Buckeyes aren't necessarily the favorite to land him, they continue to at least be a part of the decision.
From Eleven Warriors recruiting analyst Andrew Lind:
The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Dobbs — considered the third-best offensive tackle and No. 10 prospect overall in the Class of 2019 — has a strong relationship with offensive line coach Greg Studrawa, which began when the Buckeyes’ assistant offered him a scholarship during Friday Night Lights in July 2016. The two talk daily.
...
The Spartans are the overwhelming favorite to land Dobbs’ pledge, but I’m not so sure his recruitment is as cut-and-dried as it’s made out to be. Similar to Fairfield five-star offensive tackle Jackson Carman last cycle, I wouldn’t discount several out-of-state schools, notably the Tigers and Trojans.
Ohio State will continue to pursue Dobbs as the Buckeyes look to add least two more offensive tackles to the 2019 recruiting class. They're also keying in on West Virginia five-star Darnell Wright, Illinois four-star Trevor Keegan, Rhode Island four-star Xavier Truss and Dayton Dunbar three-star Jonathan Allen.
