Ohio State coach Urban Meyer met with the media on Wednesday night for his final press conference of the week before the Buckeyes' trip to Maryland to play the Terrapins on Saturday (Noon, ABC).
A bullet-point recap of what Meyer had to say:
- How deliberate are you about your body language during a game? "I have no idea ... not deliberate at all."
- Do you feel like you're taking enough deep shots this year? "I did ... for quite a while, I thought we were almost doing too many deep shots."
- On noon games: "I think a lot of guys like them. I personally like them as well."
- Baron Browning will miss his second straight game due to an injury suffered last week in practice.
- On recruiting Dwayne Haskins: "Dwayne was a guy I was always very close with ... we want after him very hard and got him," Meyer said, after Tristen Wallace decommitted.
- On Chris Olave: "Boy, is he going to be a good player." Said he is "tough" and "smart," which has enabled him to have immediate success as a true freshman.
- Meyer says what Maryland is doing defensively is still pretty close to what it was doing last year when DJ Durkin was head coach.
