TreVeyon Henderson should be good to go next week despite leaving Ohio State's game against Rutgers in the first quarter.

On a second-down carry late in the first quarter of Saturday's matchup with Rutgers, the Buckeyes' starting running back absorbed a hard hit and immediately came out of the game. Henderson was tended to by trainers on the bench before heading to the medical tent, but the true freshman eventually returned to the sideline without his helmet in hand.

"He should be fine, he just got banged up a little bit," Ryan Day said about Henderson when interviewed at halftime.

After the game, Day echoed that sentiment, saying Henderson could have returned to the game but Day “didn't want to take a chance.”

"It was my decision to hold him out the second half," Day said. "He was ready to go."

Prior to the apparent injury, Henderson racked up 71 yards on just eight carries, including a 44-yard touchdown on his very first attempt of the day to put Ohio State ahead 7-0 after the extra point.

The touchdown was Henderson's eighth of the year overall, and his seventh on the ground. In his first career start on Sept. 18, Henderson ran for an Ohio State freshman record 277 yards against Tulsa.

Miyan Williams was listed as unavailable for the Buckeyes on Saturday, but Master Teague, Marcus Crowley and Evan Pryor all made the trip to New Jersey with Ohio State at the running back position.
