Ohio State demolishes Tennessee, 42-17, and advances to the Rose Bowl to face top-seeded Oregon.
Ohio State has added yet another support staffer who previously worked with Jim Knowles.
Brent Zdebski, who was a defensive quality control coach with Knowles at Oklahoma State last season, is now listed in Ohio State’s staff directory as a defensive quality control coach for the Buckeyes.
Zdebski becomes the fourth new member of Ohio State’s support staff who previously worked with Knowles. Koy McFarland, who was also a defensive quality control coach at Oklahoma State, joined Ohio State’s staff earlier this month. The Buckeyes have also hired two coaches who previously worked with Knowles at Duke: Matt Guerrieri, who was co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach at Duke and is now a senior advisor and analyst for Ohio State, and Sam McGrath, who was the Blue Devils’ linebackers coach last season and is now a program assistant for the Buckeyes.
Another former Oklahoma State staffer who was expected to join the Buckeyes’ staff, Michael Hunter, did not end up coming to Columbus and has instead remained with Oklahoma State as an assistant defensive backs coach.
Zdebski comes to Ohio State after one year at Oklahoma State. It's a return to the Big Ten for Zdebski, who was a defensive graduate assistant at Wisconsin from 2018-20. Zdebski also previously worked as a quality control coach at Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan after graduating from UMass, where he worked with the quarterbacks and wide receivers as a student assistant coach.
While Zdebski’s specific coaching duties at Ohio State have not been determined yet, he previously worked with the safeties at Oklahoma State and with the outside linebackers at Wisconsin.
