Cowan arrived at Ohio State as part of the 2020 recruiting class where he was rated as the No. 17 defensive tackle and No. 163 overall player in the class.
After not playing a snap during his true freshman season in 2020 due to an injury, Cowan played a reserve role for the Buckeyes in 2021, appearing in seven games throughout the season and playing a total of 44 snaps.
Cowan finishes his Ohio State career with three total tackles, notching one each against Maryland, Indiana and Michigan State during the 2021 season.
Entering his redshirt sophomore year, Cowan will have four seasons of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
