Miyan Williams won’t have a chance to build on last week’s career-best performance in Ohio State's matchup with Michigan State.
The third-year Buckeye running back dashed for 189 yards and an Ohio State single-game record-tying five scores on 21 carries with TreVeyon Henderson sidelined against Rutgers. On Saturday in East Lansing, Henderson will be available while Williams is out with an ailment that is not expected to be long-term, according to Ryan Day.
"We have the bye week next week, so we are expecting him to come back for the Iowa game," Day said.
Williams also offered confidence for a quick return when he tweeted that he'll "be back" and ensured Ohio State fans that his teammates will take care of business during his absence.

Williams joins Jaxon Smith-Njigba and nine other Buckeyes listed as unavailable on Ohio State’s status report. Smith-Njigba will miss his fourth game of the season and his third in a row as he deals with a hamstring issue suffered in the season opener against Notre Dame.
The lone Buckeye listed as a game-time decision for Saturday’s matchup with the Spartans is fourth-year offensive lineman Enokk Vimahi, who makes his first appearance of the season on a Buckeye status report.

Second-year cornerback Jordan Hancock won’t see the field for the Ohio State secondary for the sixth straight game to start the year, but the Buckeyes could have several notable players returning to action in the defensive backfield. Neither Cameron Brown nor Cameron Martinez, who both missed time with injury over the past couple of weeks, were listed on the status report. Starting nickel safety Tanner McCalister, who was sidelined in the first quarter against Rutgers, appears to be available as well.
Others unavailable for Ohio State include Teradja Mitchell, Joe Royer and Buckeye captains Kamryn Babb and Tyler Friday.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Spartan Stadium as the Buckeyes strive to secure their sixth straight win to start the season.
