Johnnie Dixon is the USFL’s offensive player of the week.
The former Ohio State wide receiver earned the honor from the USFL on Monday after he caught nine passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns in the New Orleans Breakers’ 24-20 win over the Michigan Panthers on Sunday.

The first touchdown catch came on a 9-yard strike from McLeod Bethel-Thompson in the red zone while the second came on a 36 catch-and-run on which he adjusted to catch a deep ball thrown slightly behind him before taking off to the end zone.

Dixon told Fox Sports’ RJ Young after the game that it was “definitely the best game of my life.”
For the season as a whole, Dixon’s second with the Breakers, the former Ohio State wide receiver has caught 29 passes for 396 yards and four touchdowns in only six games. After missing two games earlier in the season with a quad injury, Dixon now leads the USFL with 66 receiving yards per game. His four receiving touchdowns are just one off the league lead.
