Ohio State demolishes Tennessee, 42-17, and advances to the Rose Bowl to face top-seeded Oregon.
Despite a lot of conversation and a challenge from Luke Montgomery, Austin Siereveld remained Ohio State's starting left guard when the Buckeyes took the field against Tennessee.
Siereveld has started each of the past two games for Ohio State since a season-ending injury to center Seth McLaughlin, which caused former left guard Carson Hinzman to slide over to center in his place.
Siereveld also started two games in place of the Buckeyes' original starting left guard, Donovan Jackson, earlier in the season when Jackson was injured. Jackson has since slid out to left tackle to replace Josh Simmons, also out for the season with injury. In addition to his time filling in for Jackson and McLaughlin, Siereveld has rotated with right guard Tegra Tshabola in the first-team offense at times this season.
Montgomery took the field at left guard to start the Buckeyes' third drive and Siereveld slid to right guard. Day said earlier in the week that Siereveld will swing between left and right guard as the Buckeyes toy with their interior lineup.
