The gray sleeves are back.
When Ohio State battles Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff national championship game, the Buckeyes will wear white jerseys with gray sleeves, also known as "Heritage Stripes." The program showed off that combination in a social media post on Thursday.

The championship game will mark the first time Ohio State has donned gray sleeves since its 2022 Peach Bowl loss to Georgia. In this year's College Football Playoff, the Buckeyes opted for all-scarlet uniforms in their win over Tennessee, their traditional road uniforms in their Rose Bowl win over Oregon and their traditional home uniforms in their Cotton Bowl win over Texas.
With Ohio State wearing white, Notre Dame will wear its traditional home uniforms in the title game, complete with gold pants, navy jerseys and gold chrome helmets.
Ohio State will face Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. ESPN will televise the matchup across several networks, including a main feed featuring Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Holly Rowe on the broadcast.
