Hawkins, known in Columbus for his mid-Rose Bowl commitment in 2022, entered the transfer portal on Tuesday after spending one season with Ohio State. He decided to play for the Knights four days later.
Hawkins didn't play a single snap in his lone year in Columbus and was on the field for 46 plays in the Buckeyes' spring game last week.
He'll have a clearer path to playing time with the Knights, who are coming off their first season in the Big 12, finishing with a 6-7 overall record.
Hawkins is one of just two OSU players so far to transfer in the spring window with running back Dallan Hayden being the other. He's the first to find a new school, though Hayden has received plenty of interest and is visiting Colorado this weekend.
